Pilates- Oxygen Advantage

This workshop will combine Oxygen Advantage (breathing method) with Pilates with the aim to challenge your body and calm your mind.

In this workshop you will learn the breathing techniques of Oxygen Advantage and apply them to Pilates Matwork core exercises. By the end of the workshop participants will have a good understanding of Pilates and Oxygen Advantage and how these 2 techniques combined can help with core activation.

Joseph Pilates was very interested in breathing. He is quoted saying:"Breathing is the rst act of life and the last. Our very life depends on it." It was his belief that people didn't breathe properly.

Oxygen Advantage is a breathing system aiming to improve the delivery of oxygen to the cells. Better oxygenation of your cells means: sharp focus, ecient metabolism & better sports performance. Based on scientic evidence we know that our ability to utilise oxygen is dependent on our breathing practice. Breathing heavily though contributes to the exact opposite of the desired eect.

Teachers: Ana Carvalho & Anastasis Tzanis
Ana has been working with movement and exercise for over 20 years. With a background in dance, Pilates and sport therapy, she has taught people from all walks of life. Her speciality is to listen to what you say and what your body is telling her and from there create a movement session that will be specic to what you want and what your body needs. These two facts are not always the same. In the past two years she has dedicated herself to more subtle but very powerful approaches to healing: Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and the Oxygen Advantage breathing method. She believes that simple exercises performed with consistency are key for a great healthy life.
Anastasis works as a clinical nutritionist and yoga teacher in London. Since 2014 the focus of his practice has been the optimisation of human metabolism. In 2016 he got certied as a Wim Hof Method instructor. In 2017 he studied under Patrick McKeown. Since then the Oxygen Advantage method became a integral part in both his teaching & clinical practice. You can nd out more at:
